Ode To My Beautiful Blue Eye TWO YEAR OLD Boy!!!

First off, I'd like to say Happy Birthday Garrett!!! Today at exactly 6:45am my sweet boy turned 2! I can't believe that I am here right now! I will not lie and say I was happy or at all excited for this day to come, I have been dreading it for the last few months especially. Last night I about broke out in tears every five seconds (which might have more to do with the fact that I am an overly emotional pregnant mama). Two years ago when I took him into my arm for the first time I NEVER could have imagined the independent, stubborn, sweet, funny, energetic spirit we were bringing to our home. I don't know what we'd do without you! Our family would never be complete without you! Thank you for letting me be your mom, and for challenging me every day to be a better one! Thank you for teaching me to be more patient, and to let go a little. We sure love you monkey face! Happy 2nd Bithday!!!!!!

Life's little moments.....

So Garrett was being really fussy, and asked to be put on his bed, so I obliged, and he was crying and boobing for a few minutes and then he got quite so I went in to check on him and he wasn't on his bed anymore so I went and looked in the living room to see if he was in there watching cartoons with Wyatt, and he wasn't so I went in his room again, and with a little investigation this is what I found:

Apparently he was tired! I store blankets and our luggage and bags under his bed and he had pulled some of them out and was laying on the rest! I think he went searching under there for and extra pacifier and just fell asleep in the attempt! He is just so cute! I'm glad I thought to calm down and go look for him again cause when I couldn't find him at first I started to panic a little. Anyways, a cute story to go along with such a cute boy!

Tags complete! Now I tag like Kimber tags 1-3 all those marrieds out there, and the baby tag for all those who have at least one kidlet!

The results are in....

So in case you didn't know Garrett has been having a lot of problems with ear infections. 8 in the last 10 months to be exact. I don't know if you have ever experienced a child with an ear infection, and I know all kids are different, but my kid turns into the most evil little monster EVER when he has one! Which is quite a change from his normal happy dude disposition! He has had 4 ear infections in the last 4 months, and I was going a little crazy! We made an appointment with the ear, nose, and throat doctor, and he said it would probably be best to put tubes in. At first I was a little apprehensive, but when I got to thinking about it, it really does seem to be the best option for us. Besides the fact that I think he was building up an immunity to the antibiotics. Thus the 4 in 4 months. So I'm sorry my sweet baby boy for doing this all on your birthday weekend, but that's when we could do it. I am SO looking forward to a much less crabby baby, and a much less crabby mommy!

Happy Valentine's Day for "Crayon" out loud!!!

This is the fun little project Wyatt and I decided to do this year for Valentines! He picked them out all himself and everything! He was just SO SO cute and so excited to do Valentines this year!! Garrett not so much, but if it doesn't involve a ball it really doesn't interest him that much so I'm not too fussed about it! Of course this involves a lot of "grown up" help to get started, but after they were cooled Wyatt and I formed an assembly line! Wyatt also picked all the colors for the paper, and saying! Here's how you do it:

1. You can pretty much use any crayon colors you want, I opted for reds, whites, oranges, pinks, and purples for the occasion. I just eyeballed how many I'd need, I didn't really measure.

2. Peel off the paper and chop into smallish chunks (Wyatt loved peeling the paper off because he is not allowed to normally!) It would probably work just as good if you wanted to break them up with your fingers.

3. Put the chopped crayons in a bowl and mix them around good so you get the colors all good and mixed up!

4. Fill up your heart shaped baking dish with the crayon mixture! Mine is silicon, I think they are just easier to pop stuff out of, but metal would work just as good.

5. Bake at 250 degrees for 15-20 minutes until the crayon is good melted!

6. Let them cool. It really doesn't take that long, I just got all the other stuff prepared while they cooled.

7. Pick your favorite shape (Wyatt chose to do it on a circle) write of your saying, you don't have to go with the one I did, you could always make up a different one!

8. Glue on your crayon hearts, and your ready for delivery!

Wyatt really enjoyed making these, and it was really fun and easy for me to do it with him! If you do make them I hope you have as much fun with them as we did! Happy early Valentines Day!

Pet Peeves!!!

So I am so irritated by people who text while they are driving! I mean COME ON! I would be so mad if someone dumb drive-texter caused me to get into a wreck or wrecked into me because they were being completely careless. Sorry if I'm making someone out there in blogland mad because of my opinion on this, but I would never intentionally do anything to put my or anyone else's precious' in danger because I was being THAT careless. Sorry peeps, but it's a bad judgement call. That's my rant for the day!

My life, my joy....

I have always known that my life's ambition was to be a mother. I just never imagined how trying and painstaking motherhood could actually be. Shortly after Wyatt was born I was so ready to have another baby. Wyatt was somewhat of a colicky baby, but I knew that most of it was due to the fact that I was so ill after he was born and had to undergo several surgeries, so because of all the anesthetic in my system my breast milk made him very belly achy, and barfy. So I was unable to nurse him longer than 5 months, but I was still so happy that I had provided him as long as I could. Wyatt has always been my little mama's boy. He rarely lets me out of his site, and loves to just follow and chatter as he goes. I feel like he has always been very advanced for his age, maybe I'm a little bias, maybe not, but for sure he is one smart little kid. He was such a sweet and lovey little baby, always a cuddler. Which has always suited me just fine! So after having such a sweet little boy, who wouldn't crave another so quickly after?!

So when Wyatt was just a mere 13 months old we were ecstatic to find out we were expecting once again. Never would I expect the whorl wind that came next. Not only did I have all day sickness but along with it came a MOUNTAIN of kidney stones. After having surgery to remove some extremely large ones when I was only barley 12 weeks pregnant the doctor prepared us for the worst in telling us that because of the surgery we would probably loose the baby. So two days after the surgery I prepared myself for the worst, and during the ultrasound I experienced one of the great miracles in my lifetime. He bumped right up against the ultrasound wand thingy and both the ultrasound tech and I saw it on my belly! See I couldn't bare for Ryan to come in case it was bad news, and when we saw and I felt that, I knew me and this baby could handle anything the rest of this pregnancy decided to throw our way! Then just after that realization the picture came on the screen, and I saw that it was the second little boy that I had been dreaming of! Unfortunately Ryan wasn't there to witness that, but I thought for sure there would be no way they'd be able to tell that early, but there it was in all it's glory! Ryan was a little disappointed, but got over it quick when it set in that he was going to have another little boy! The next few months were a whirlwind of lots of puking, IV fluids, UTIs, kidney infections, and more kidney stones. Then at my sixth month mark the contractions started coming hard and fast. We were really scared one night that we might have a 28 week baby. We prepared ourselves, but the doctors were able to work their magic and stop the labor. The next 10 weeks I spent pretty much in the hospital or in bed. My meds consisted mostly of contraction stopping meds and anti-nausea meds. Then at just one day shy of being 38 weeks my water broke at home, when I was alone at 12:30am. Ryan was working midnights then. So I called my in laws had them come pick up Wyatt and drove myself to the hospital. And surprisingly I was totally calm and excited that whole time! I was going to have a baby that night! I got all settled in, and a little over an hour Ryan was there. The labor lasted only 6 hours total from the time my water broke until I was holding my sweet new boy in my arms.

Then the hard part came. We got him home and all settled, and he wanted NOTHING to do with me! He cried non stop! The only time he wanted to be held by me was to breastfeed. I suppose it should have been a precursor during pregnancy that I should have picked up on the fact that he was one independent little sucker in the womb, but I guess I missed that part. The next few months were very difficult and hard for me. He didn't need me. How could I have Wyatt, who needed me so much, to this? He had always been going a thousand miles an hour so I guess it was a good thing at the same time too. He was rolling by 3 months, crawling at 4, and then walking by the time he was 7 1/2 months. He has always shown me how independent he is, and I think that was something I needed to learn as well. See I am somewhat of a control freak, and I think this was Heavenly Father's way of telling me, look Nanci, it's ok to let go a little and let kids be kids, you don't always have to do everything! So Garrett has taught me great patients.

In the end I guess it was all worth it. Now he is happy as a clam almost always. Still stubborn and independent, but softer and sweeter. I simply cherish the moments like tonight when he climbs up on my lap, wraps his arms around my neck, kisses both my cheeks, and says "wuv ooo mommy". And then much to my surprise leans down and kisses my belly, and smiling up at me says "baby". How much this past almost two years have taught me. Even though I'm sick, tired, and crabby, I am ready to live this next adventure. A new life, spirit, and personality to learn about, love, cherish, and relish in the sweet tender moments. Thank you Garrett for teaching me to be a better more patients mother, and for letting me be your mom! I sure love you!

Gone Public, with some reservations....

Well, we have decided to make our blog public once again, it was just too much of a hassle to keep it private, and people kept wanting to view our blog, and couldn't and I am not very computer wise, maybe I should take a class! Anyway, we are now public again, but I would just like to ask that if we are on your blog list to leave off our last name to keep our little precious' safe. Thanks again!

I caught the 9 month bug!

So some of you out there in cyber space are probably wondering why the frick I am already announcing out newest bundle on the way, well, it's because I am for one terrible at keeping secrets, two my oldest kept telling the whole freakin world, and three cause I am having no complications to make me or my doctor believe that this won't stick. In truth I am so so so sick, but for me that comes with the territory, and have already had to have a couple of visits to my friendly neighborhood hospital for fluids, but hey, that's pregnant life for me! We are really excited to move on to this next big adventure, and even a little freaked cause three is a lot of kidos to handle! So there is our big news for the next little while!
