Toilet Trauma....

*unfortunatly I didn't get a photo of the incedent, so I thought I'd put this cute one up instead to remind me how sweet and adorable they can be!

Ok, so this happened last week, but it has taken me a few days to get over it, and now that I can look back on the situation and laugh I am ready to divulge the story. So the last few weeks I have not been feeling very well, and after a two day stint in the hospital, I went home to recuperate, the first day I was back my wonderful mother in law took the boys so that I could spend the day sleeping because I didn't get much sleep, but the next day I was all alone, I knew the boys would take advantage of my weakness, but I had no idea what was in store for me! Little did I know what closing my eyes for ten minutes while the boys were awake would bring me. I awoke with a start hearing Garrett screaming, which is a regular occurrence in our home due to the fact that his older brother is a big fat bully! Garrett has been teething too, so he wasn't his chipper self anyhow, so I went into the kitchen to make Garrett a bottle and then send him off to bed. When I went into the toy room to get him neither one of my sweet precious little imps were anywhere to be found, so I headed to their bedroom, and low and behold no childrens in there either. Hum.....I thought to myself starting to realize their location. See I am super obsessive about all the doors in the house being shut except for the toy room and the boys room usually, and to make it even more OCD I put childproof door nob covers on all the doors that aren't really where I want the kidos. This makes my life so much easier due to the fact that the toys NEVER stay in the toy room and there are only so many hours a day that I am going to clean them back up. Well Wyatt can open the doors with or without the cover, but he is usually my very good boy who always asks permission to go in said rooms, so I never really worry about the fact that they are useless to ward him off. Well, apparently today was not my lucky day because when I opened up the bathroom door there the toilet culprits were, soaked from head to toe in toilet water! Augh! Garrett was bawling due to the fact that Wyatt had just poured a bunch of toilet water on his head, and there was like a half in of it covering pretty much every surface in the bathroom. And here's the catch, you may think I'm gross for admitting this, but during the day when just the boys and I are home if Wyatt needs to go pee and only pee I don't flush it because I know he's just gonna go in like a half and hour again anyway. And so this said toilet water that was EVERYWHERE was peed in toilet water! YUCK! To make this wonderful event even more exciting Wyatt then professes to me that he had peed in the garbage can as well! Moral of the story is never fall asleep when your 3 year old is a genius, and always always flush your toilet!

This is something my kids would do, I think Taylor is over the playing in the toilet thing but Colin is obsessed! He will throw anything he can think of in there so that he can retrive it. Good to hear from you!

My son would never think twice about doing that exact same thing. In fact, I'm ashamed to say I wasn't really that grossed out because I've had a few similar situations. Don't you just love being a parent? Danny and I always say how gross kids are and laugh about how if we knew in high school some of the things we'd end up doing . . . we'd probably have thrown up.

Seriously! My AC in my house is broken and it is like $2500 to fix...so we are living on 2 window air conditioners! Worth every penny! :)
